Amazon Sr. Solutions Architect - Research and Development, HCLS, Healthcare and Life Sciences in Zurich, Switzerland

Description

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Solutions Architects at Amazon Web Services (AWS) build technical relationships with customers of all sizes and operate as their trusted advisor. In this specific role, you will work with AWS customers and AWS Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) domain experts to create the architectures for solutions to HCLS industry challenges in the Clinical space. You will not only design and build these solutions, but continue to refine and scale them by working closely with AWS Professional Services, AWS Partners, and customers. This role requires hands-on experience in application integration design, solid knowledge of business software application design stemming from domain-driven design, and micro-services and component-based architectures. This knowledge needs to be paired with HCLS domain expertise in areas such as clinical workflows, clinical trials, and the development and deployment of industry solutions in the life sciences value chain. Candidates for this role need experience with applications, use cases, user experiences, and challenges in the HCLS industry gained by working in architect or developer roles within the domain. Candidates should have insights on how cloud-based software solutions are built in a life sciences context, including but not limited to the handling of sensitive data, process observability, and audit readiness.

you will also participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS technology and HCLS industry trends (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences). This role will include up to 30% travel.

Key job responsibilities

At AWS, we have a credo of “Work hard. Have fun. Make history”. In this role, you will love what you do, and instinctively know how to make work fun. You will be dynamic and creative, and willing to take on any challenge and make a big impact.

Enjoy working with large, global customers as an active contributor to a diverse team. You will have a passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for a diverse and challenging set of Life Science enterprise customers.

Have a strong understanding of large scale computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a systems or support engineer. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.
