General Motors PMO Program Manager in Zurich, Switzerland

Job Description

Based in our modern and conveniently located office in the heart of Zurich city, you will be part of a diverse and dynamic team dedicated to transforming the automotive industry. As a Program Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of our automotive programs, ensuring successful execution from planning and development to launch and post-launch support. Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage programs delivery processes, including setting up meeting governance, moderating sessions, coordinating delivery of milestones across teams, etc.

  • Maintain comprehensive program documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports.

  • Work closely with Team leaders, cross-functional teams, and assigned managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing for new initiatives and market launches.

  • Act as the primary liaison between project owners and senior management.

  • Regularly monitors programs progress and propose adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.

  • Ensure key requirements for cross-functional teams are identified and communicated to the right stakeholders.

  • Hold project owners accountable and facilitate discussionsaround roles and responsibilities gaps to find solutions.

  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce regular program reports for the leadership team and team managers.

  • Promote and implement continuous improvements initiatives within the PMO and GME to enhance program outcomes.

  • Conduct program reviews and post-mortem analyses to identify areas for improvement.

  • Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving

Additional Job Description

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in program management within the automotive industry or a Direct-to-consumer business.

  • Minimumbachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, communications or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs from inception to completion.

  • Excellent Organization Skills – The ideal candidate must feel a strong need to put structure together and bring clarity in an ambiguous business context.

  • Experience in using resources effectively and efficiently and ability to arrange and present information usefully.  Speed to respond to last-minute requests and changes is essential to be successful in this role.

  • Strong relationship-building skills to influence without authority, to leadand motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Highly effective presentation skills in various formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups with peers and leadership.

  • Able to make or to lead the process for making sound decisions, based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.

  • Ability to break down barriers and quickly achieve high impact progress in a complex team environment to get things done; uses resources effectively and efficiently.

  • Creative and open-minded approach to new ways to drive program success.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to identify issues/opportunities and develop solutions/recommendations

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments utilizing highly efficient time management skills
