Job Description
General Purpose:
Perform electrical maintenance tasks on plant utility and process infrastructure. Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, electrical components, and electronic components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications. Work with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused on complex and/or new assignments. Act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Program, troubleshoot, and operate programmable controllers, distributive control systems, and interlocking systems
Install equipment for new electrical services (120v, 240v, and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, times and controls
Perform work on site automation system to the component level including components that require 0–10-volt signal or 4-20 milliamp signal repair
Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work; install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed
Work on electrical equipment including but not limited to Frequency Ddrives (VFDs), contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring
Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, distribution systems, motor control centers, and motors
Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime
Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
Stay up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniques
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
Exhibit the ability to anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance
Perform and assist in all operations maintenance activities, in accordance with national, state and local electrical codes
Use a computerized maintenance management system (e.g., SAP) to record and access maintenance related information
Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from trade school or technical school in related discipline preferred
2 to 4 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and automation system maintenance experience
Certification and/or License – Electrician journeyman license or other location specific electrician license; master electrician preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to perform electrical work (change pump motors, diagnose motor control problem, etc.)
Must know pneumatics, solenoid valves, and air cylinders
Must be able to use standard maintenance tools in a safe manner
Must have the ability to perform minor projects from planning to installation. (Typically, this includes non-sanitary piping, drain lines, vacuum lines)
Must have the ability to perform routine repairs in a safe and timely fashion (rebuilding product/water pumps, boiler maintenance, HVAC, VFD's, sanitary valves, piping leaks)
Must have the ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, identify any abnormal conditions, and maintain appropriate records
Must have the ability to perform basic welding for repair and fabrication (tig/stick)
Must have the ability to follow process control computer variables and schematics and diagnose system problems
Must have the ability to assist other mechanics on more complicated repairs in a safe and useful manner
Must have good interpersonal skills necessary to foster cooperation and effectively communicate with others
Must be able to successfully complete a written maintenance test conducted by Maintenance Manager
Basic computer skills
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Pay Range $30.00-$40.00/hour
