This role will lead a team of Sourcing professionals and will provide global direction for developing end-to-end leadership in the DDS space. This includes strategy development, key relationships within the business and managing key supplier relationships. The position must shape, connect and lead resources to deliver on key projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute E2E DDS Procurement strategies that are aligned with the business/sector needs including sourcing strategy, negotiations, contract implementation and performance against established targets (Cost drivers, risk analysis, mitigation, analytics, applicability / of category value creation)

  • Manage supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and monitor supplier contract negotiations. Relationships are with senior executives at the supplier end

  • Manages relationship with key internal senior stakeholders, both in SC and R&D

  • Conduct performance reviews/serve as People Manager

  • Lead and manage the team, including capability building and governance

  • Manage & prioritize portfolio of Procurement segment (Pharm) specific initiatives and provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s / University or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree is preferred

  • MBA preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience

  • Strong Procurement background, preferably in the Drug delivery system field

  • Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management).

  • Expertise in contracting, understanding regulatory, legal, compliance and commercial elements

  • Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with JNJ senior Management)

  • Strong leadership, vison and strategy setting, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills

  • Strong project and change management capabilities

  • Strong business acumen

  • Multi-county and Multi sector experience preferred with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information

  • Ability to seek and drive continuous improvements

  • Ability to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives

  • Judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues

  • High level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community

  • Proven examples of delivering step function performance and ability to develop visions, strategies, etc. while managing reasonable risk

  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., business, Finance, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); has "presence"

  • Proven track record in attracting and developing talent

  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and executing significant influencing roles.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization can effectively and efficiently move through transitions

  • People Management experience is required.

  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required to communicate effectively and professionally

  • Requires up to 20% domestic and international travel

  • Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option for two remote workdays each week
