In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills while creating engaging and informative training videos to support our organization's learning and development initiatives as well as creating other product content to be used on our social media platforms.

You will work closely with the National Training Manager, Brand Team, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the videos align with our brand and effectively communicate complex concepts.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and the National Training Manager to identify training needs and objectives.

  • Assist in designing and developing training video content that aligns with the organization's learning goals and objectives.

  • Learn and apply instructional design principles to create effective training videos.

  • Create visually appealing video scripts, storyboards, and shot lists under the guidance of the National Training Manager.

  • Film and edit training videos using professional video equipment and software.

  • Incorporate graphics, animations, and other visual elements to enhance the learning experience, with guidance from the Brand Team.

  • Ensure videos are accurate, up-to-date, and adhere to brand guidelines and style standards.

  • Conduct thorough quality checks, under the guidance of the National Training Manager, to ensure videos are error-free and meet the desired learning outcomes.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in instructional design and video production.

  • Collaborate with the training, product and sales teams to evaluate the effectiveness of training videos and make necessary improvements.

  • Working with the brand team and filming footage (usage footage, behind the scenes, unboxing) that can be used to create content for social media.

The Person:

You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You’re not intimidated by innovation. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do your job and do a world of good? In fact, you embrace it. You also have:

  • A graduate or soon-to-be graduate with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Film Production, Media Studies, Instructional Design, etc.).

  • Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.)

  • Strong interest in video production techniques, including lighting, sound, and camera operation.

  • Excellent storytelling and scriptwriting skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • An interest in tools is advantageous.

  • A portfolio or samples of previous video production or content creation work, if available, would be a plus.

Important Information

This is a part-time contract position (approx. 15-20 hours per week), for 5-6 months.

The working hours can be flexible to accommodate the candidate's university schedule if needed. The exact schedule can be discussed during the interview process.

Stanley Black & Decker is a flexible employer and your role will be a mix of working in office spaces (Box Hill and Dandenong South) and from home. However, with this specific role, you will also need to spend time at our training facility in Keysborough and on other job sites for filming.

A car and current license will be required.
