Summarized Purpose:

Ensures efficient and effective processes of the department and is responsible for quality within the department. Participates in the daily operations of the departments supported or where needed and follows up on complaints/issues unit resolution. Provides training for new personnel or when new processes are implemented. Follows up on training documentation of the team. Attends study protocol meetings, courier weekly, QBR’s and escalation calls. Creates work schedule and holiday planning for the team.

As a member of the Logistics Leadership team your presence onsite may be required for the following events, but not limited to:

• Meetings and/or trainings, team coaching

• Audits

• Courier Meetings

Education and Experience:

• Preferred degree Bachelor degree or relevant formal/academic/vocational qualification or precious experience that provides knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job [comparable to 5+ years

Additional/Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Reports to Director, Lab Logistics

• Manages the Team Leads in Track/Trace and Shipping

• Acts as a back up to other Team Leads in Logistics

• Directs and participates in all aspect of daily operations of the department

• Evaluates performance of the team and displays positive attitude and excellent work ethics

• Plans appropriate staffing levels to meet business and client needs

• Provides training to new staff members and when new processes are implemented

• Proint of escalation for queries related to Track/Trace and Shipping,

• Point of escalation for calls related to courier issues, performance and logistics issues and escalated to management/appropriate department to ensure satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders

• Actively assists during Sponsor audits

• Assists Management with training, quality compliance, SOP reviews and updates

• Manages staff, which may include interviewing and job selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, behavior and technical coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations

• Reviews and approves time records, expense reports and/or global team meetings

• Conducts 1:1 with direct reports and maintains open communication with each staff member

• Attend client meetings ad neededLeads and participates in projects

• Coordinates the review and action required on courier performance reports

• Assists in managing Quality Events related to the department

• May require IATA certification
