Job Description
Assists an Aircraft Weapon Tech and Aircraft Weapons Gun Crew Leader with a variety of tasks associated with aircraft weapons and munition testing. Assists with transportation, emplacement, operation, and recovery of a variety of aircraft mounted and ground fired weapon systems. Assists with ammunition loading in systems such as Hydra 70 2.75-inch rockets, a variety of guided missiles, aircraft machine guns, and ground launched foreign rockets. Assists with the preparation and firing of these and other aircraft weapon systems. Follows SOPs and TMs for all process and procedures. Assists with employing manual or mechanical techniques to set weapon elevation and azimuth. Assists with the operation of a variety of mobile equipment to facilitate testing such as rough terrain forklifts, and overhead cranes. Assists with the assembly of munitions and setting fuses to prepare for firing operations. Participates in training to assemble, operate, and disassemble ground based laser designator systems for both manual and remote applications to support armed helicopter missions and laser guided munitions. Performs other duties required to complete assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications
Pay Rate: 20.89Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must be able to obtain and maintain a current AA&E certification.* Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications to operate forklifts and overhead cranes. * Must have experience handling and transporting explosives/munitions on YPG.* Must have successfully completed 120 hours of cross-utilization into the Aircraft Weapons section.Job Skills Requirements:* Must be willing and able to use hand tools such as picks and shovels to emplace weapon systems.Physical Requirements:* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.* Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.* Must be capable of lifting 100 lbs unassisted.* Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, and stooping.* Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs. multiple times a day across uneven terrain.* Must be able to pass Laser eye exam.* Must not have color vision deficiency.* Must be tolerant of frequent weapon systems firing.* Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Aircraft Weapons Section.Job Requirements:* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.* Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.* Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.* Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.* Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.* Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.* Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.* Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.* Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.* Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.* Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy.* Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs.* Must be safety and security conscious, complying with rules and policies.* Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently.Additional Desirable Qualifications:* Military experience or training that includes weapons and/or ammunition training.* Experience with armed military aircraft, especially rotary wing.Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.* Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.Closing Date: 05 DECEMBER 2024
