Title: Assistant Professor (Computer & Electrical Engineering Technology) Employee Classification: FA - Faculty 16 and 24 Pay Pay Grade: FA 01 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: School of Engineering Department: College of Eng & Technology Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The School of Engineering (SE) in the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computer and Electrical Engineering Technology (CEET) who can teach a variety of courses in the computer and electrical engineering field such as computer vision and machine learning, computer programming, database development, programmable logic controller (PLC), autonomous vehicles, discrete math and AC/DC motors. Exceptional candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering technology are encouraged to apply. SE offers a 4-year Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree program in CEET. CEET is a profession in which the application of engineering knowledge and scientific methods, combined with technical skills, are used to support computerized engineering activities. An engineering technology program emphasizes hands-on application and implementation. In some situations, engineers and technologists can share the same responsibilities. The position is set to commence in August 2025, and comes with an attractive benefits package. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses that fulfill the CEET curriculum goals and objectives; develop and maintain curriculum; participate in services to support the mission of the school, the university, and the community. The candidate is expected to remain active in research and scholarly activities.
Perform related Departmental duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: • Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology, or a closely related field, completed before employment. • The successful candidate must have effective communication skills and a desire to engage in excellent teaching with evidence, demonstrated ability, or potential to deliver high-quality instruction in computer and electrical engineering technology disciplines. • Applicants should demonstrate research potential in terms of publications in scholarly journals and conferences, a vision to establish a rigorous research agenda and secure external funding.
