Job Title: Flux Core and MIG Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Flux Core and MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding heavy gauge carbon steel, reading blueprints and weld symbols, fitting and fabrication, and operating forklifts and overhead cranes. This position requires attention to detail, organization, and the ability to lift and adjust materials for welds.

Responsibilities

• Perform Flux Core and MIG welding on heavy gauge carbon steel

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols

• Use tape measures and measurement tools

• Grind, fit, and fabricate products using hand/power tools

• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes

• Lift and adjust materials for welds, occasionally lifting 50-75 lbs

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Flux Core and MIG welding

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols

• Experience with overhead, flat, and structure welding

• Skill in fitting and fabrication

• Competence in using hand/power tools and measurement tools

• Attention to detail and organizational skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with welding stainless steel

• Knowledge of AWS standards

• Ability to pass written and physical welding tests

• Forklift and overhead crane operation experience

Work Environment

This position is in a heavy steel manufacturing environment in Youngstown. The facility is dirty and not well lit, with a mix of new and old equipment. Shifts are available from 6:30am-2:30pm, 2:30pm-10:30pm, and 10:30pm-6:30am. The team includes over 50 full-time workers and roughly 120 people in production, both full-time and temporary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Youngstown, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00
