Position Overview: This is a full-time Union position and is responsible for completing jobs proficiently and on time as well as participating in pre-job briefings, project foresight and three-week look ahead projections.
Location & Travel: York, Lancaster, and Harrisburg area. Field assignment: To be ready for work on-time and abiding by IBEW Code of Excellence. Ability to work in all construction related environments - heights, vertical, hot, cold, inside, outside, noise, office, etc. Occasional travel as necessary to other local union jurisdictions, trainings, offsite meetings, customer, or vendor facilities.
Responsibilities: Timesheets and phase codes submitted correctly and on time. Equipment and tooling reporting on timesheets or project specific documents. Responsible for the installation, support and service for audio, video, and security systems for various customers. Responsible for maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading various electronic products while ensuring their optimal performance. Troubleshoot problem systems in an accurate fashion. Provide end-user training and assistance when required. Lead an installation and work with standard engineering drawings, as well as install and fully terminate cables. Mount and install displays, ceiling speakers, equipment racking, wiring, door access hardware, video IP cameras and most general audio/video field devices. Various projects relating to the following: Security (Cameras and Access Control) Audio (Paging and Sound Reinforcement) Video (Displays and Workstations) Service (Emergency Calls & Troubleshooting)
Core Competencies: Must be proficient with troubleshooting and field installations. Must be familiar with technology and equipment. Must possess good problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to interact professionally with customers, electricians, and general contractors. Software computer skills and lite network/IP configuration Hands on mechanical aptitude. Understanding of low voltage systems for audio, video, control, and security systems. Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, technical manuals and be capable of making changes in the field (on-site). Strong communication skills and customer service attitude. Demonstrates strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications: 3-5 Years' experience working in the physical security field. Valid Driver's License or equivalent. Federal I-9 requirements. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, local codes, utility, BICSI, TIA/EIA, and OSHA requirements. Genetec Certifications Major Camera Manufacture Certifications (Axis, Hanwha, Bosch, iPro, etc) BICSI Certifications A/V installation experience a plus Fiber/structured cabling experience
