Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the Preventative and Repair Maintenance of all plant equipment. They will also be responsible for the upkeep of the facility, such as air duct and facility maintenance, as well as installation projects for new plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will report to the maintenance manager and follow the maintenance schedule, as well as handle emergency repairs to machinery. The role involves partnering closely with leadership in the plant to install, set up, and ensure the smooth operation of all plant equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative and repair maintenance on all plant equipment.
Maintain the facility, including air duct systems and general facility upkeep.
Install and set up new plant equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair machinery, including extruders, mixing machines, ribbon blends, chiller units, and light industrial lab equipment.
Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
Perform welding and other maintenance tasks as needed.
Follow the maintenance schedule and handle emergency repairs.

Preferred education in Electrical/Mechanical Discipline, but not required
Direct experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair (minimal PLC equipment)
Confidence in installing new equipment
Comfortable with dirty/dusty work, such as cleaning air duct systems when required
Welding and basic machining to fabricate parts

Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing. The Maintenance Mechanic reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Company provides all the necessary tools for the job.
The 2nd shift runs from Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Initial training will take place on the 1st shift, which runs from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with the same break schedule.
