Tuition reimbursement Summary - The Spare Parts Sales Engineer drives the regional growth of spare parts business, responsible for spares sales, execution and service, developing measures to achieve the defined goal of Sales and EBIT. The Spare Parts Sales Engineer provides the overall product leadership from the proposal phase through complete execution, promotes the supply of spare parts for hydroelectric power plants equipment supplied by Voith and 3rd parties, including, but not limited to turbine, generator, balance of plant electrical & mechanical and automation. This role includes leading the regional spare parts strategy, facilitating decision making process throughout the opportunity lifecycle, interpretation of the contract documents, providing the interface between the company and customer, as well as all functions as needed to successfully achieve our regional goals.
Responsibilities -
Developing, monitoring, and managing the regional spare parts portfolio.
Promote and deploy the spare parts program within the region, being responsible for the regionalportfolio of Spare Parts, and its related targets.
Manage the applicable transactions using our ERP system, ensuring delivery of parts on time, on budget and with the expected quality.
Develop and maintain good working relations with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
Responsible for making logical decisions to resolve customers' problems.
Accountability on the overall success of the spare parts business in north America.
Leading the regional spare parts team to ensure proper execution of the spare parts orders from proposal stage to delivery of parts.
This role will be the face to the customer for spares, which will require frequent travel to powerplants and in-depth know how of hydro power industry, power unit equipment and ability to recommend spares for emergency breakdown, regular maintenance or major overhauls
Qualifications -
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with equivalent experience.
Master's or a PhD degree is an asset.
Minimum of a five years' experience in hydro power or similar industry (previous experience with spare parts management, sales and proposal preparation work is an asset).
Entrepreneurial skills to further develop and implement the Spare Parts program in the region.
Organizational skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Highly developed report writing, and technical skills are essential.
Must be able to consistently prioritize and complete multiple tasks in the time allotted with minimal supervision.
Frequent (40%) travel required within the North America territory to visit Customer sites and follow up with suppliers with exposure to industrial environments.
Experience on interpretation of O & M manuals, reading technical drawings and supporting customer on the evaluation of inventory for uninterrupted operation. Experience and ability to inspect the power unit / equipment would be an asset.
