Position Overview: This role will work as a team member for a leading electrical contractor as Director of Fleet Operations with a significant investment in a fleet of vehicles, trucks, and equipment.  The Director of Fleet Operations is responsible for these assets.

Base Location/Travel Requirements: This position is based out of our Fleet Terminal in York, PA Some travel (as necessary) to other operations centers, offices, and yard locations, and also to attend training and offsite team building meetings. Customer-related travel may also be required.

Essential Functions/Duties: Fleet Management Strategy: Developing and implementing fleet management strategies aligned with organizational goals. Optimizing fleet operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Budgeting and Cost Management: Creating and managing the fleet budget. Implementing cost-saving initiatives and strategies. Fleet Maintenance: Ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and comply with safety regulations. Compliance and Safety: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Monitoring and reducing risks related to fleet operations. Vehicle Acquisition and Disposal: Procuring new vehicles and equipment as needed. Disposing of outdated or surplus vehicles through sale or auction. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing fleet performance data to improve efficiency and productivity. Generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilization. Team Leadership and Development: Leading and managing a team of fleet managers and support staff. Vendor and Supplier Management: Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors. Monitoring vendor performance and ensuring service level agreements are met. Technology Integration: Implementing and utilizing fleet management software (Samsara)and technology solutions. Leveraging data analytics and telematics for improved decision-making and efficiency.

Education, Skills, Experience: Required: Minimum of 10 years of experience of progressive responsibility in maintaining and administering a fleet of vehicles and equipment similar to the IB Abel fleet. Capability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for fleet operations. Expertise in budgeting and financial management. In-depth understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance. Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and relationship skills. Desired: Experience with the Samsara platform.
