Job Title: Automation Technician

Job Description

The Automation Technician will be responsible for the preventative, repair, and upkeep maintenance on 84 robots connected to a 5,000 square foot automated picking system. The work will be performed standing and on a mezzanine that is about 1 story high. There are guard rails, a desk with a computer, and a workstation to stage the robots for repair and PM's. Work orders and PM schedules will be assigned in the system and will be handled in accordance with scheduled expectations. The work orders, issues, and process will be documented on paper as well as in the computer system. Majority of the repairs on the robots will be mechanical in nature: timing belts, wheels, gears, etc. Additional electrical and PLC/HMI work will involve remote troubleshooting with the original system builders. Additional responsibilities may include troubleshooting and repair of an IPC robotic bagging machine and various robotic arms. This is a night shift role, Sunday to Thursday from 10 PM to 6 AM.

Work Environment

Clean, comfortable warehouse environment. Small maintenance staff of 2, with 1 on 1st shift and 1 on 2nd shift. Management is mostly remote, supported through Aerotek Managed Services and Automation Leadership. Large warehouse, but this role is primarily focused on the automated picking system and box building areas. Dress code includes clean jeans, steel toe boots, and a plain shirt. Tools are provided, except for lock and tag for LOTO process.
