eCommerce Commercial Analyst

Location: Flexible across either our York or Gatwick offices (Hybrid working – approx. 2 flexible days a week in one of our fantastic offices)

Salary: £40k - £45k dependent upon experience + potential bonus + 12 flexible days in addition to holiday entitlement + other fantastic benefits

We are delighted to be recruiting for an eCommerce Commercial Analyst to join our eCommerce team where you will be responsible for driving and executing data strategies for Pureplay and wider eCommerce through automated and/or efficient solutions that allow transparency throughout the internal business and drive actionable insights for the eCommerce Sales team. Using your analysis, you will provide insights and recommendations to the commercial team to unlock incremental value. You will also have a strong focus on creating automated dashboards to monitor KPIs and business projects, utilising multiple data sources, such as Google Analytics and transactional databases. You will also be involved in business-wide projects, as E-commerce plays a huge part in all aspects of our business.

A day in the life of an eCommerce Commercial Analyst…

As an eCommerce Commercial Analyst, you will play the role of a consulting analyst for the business, to analyse channel performance and support our monthly commercial planning process to enable smart and aligned navigation of our targets.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Actively seek to understand business requirements and design solutions, which are automated, promote standardisation, compliant, leverage Nestlé Business Analysis toolset and aligned to the business needs: Transform data into efficiently run and easy to understand dashboards and reports

  • To support the optimisation of trade spend through the analysis of sales data and the effect of promotions, media activations, e-content updates and more.

  • Ensure understanding of Nestlé and Global data and security requirements and ensure all solutions are meeting these requirements. Take ownership, support and sustain for all Sales developed solutions, working to build end user knowledge and competency.

  • Influencing and Raise the Bar Projects - Work with NAMs and the eContent and Media manager to understand opportunities to innovate and test & learn and specifically how we can create a data based analysis to assess the merit of the test & learn.

  • Proactively collaborate with Nestlé eCommerce colleagues across Zone Europe, sharing best practice, test and learns, and showcasing the UK eCommerce team as a lighthouse market.

What will make you successful?

To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate eCommerce commercial experience with proven examples of impacting commercial KPIs through analysis, insights and actionable recommendations. You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for our Nestlé brands, you will have commercial capability and have experience of influencing across all levels. What’s key is your real passion for all things eCommerce and digital and the ability to work in an environment that can be, at times, ambiguous.

You will also have:

  • Experience leveraging data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBi) to turn analysis into readily accessible insight

  • Strong Excel skills to automate processes and preferably have an understanding of SQL as well as some programming languages

  • Strategic and critical thinking to lead and accelerate the eCommerce journey within Pureplay as well as B&C

  • Experience of working in omni channel brands would be an advantage.

  • Experience of working for an FMCG would be an advantage.

  • With the ever-changing landscape of eCommerce, the ability to continually learn and adapt to new challenges the channel presents and communicate learnings along the way
