Position Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen as a Packaging Specialist working for our confectionery team predominantly based at York, some travel to our site in Halifax or other 3rd Party partners. In the role you will work closely with NPD to introduce new packaging and processes into the factory whilst also providing wider technical support in relation to packaging, processes and technologies.

A day in the life of a Packaging Specialist…

• Develop and introduce new packaging and processes within factory and/or third parties, while taking into consideration compliance with Nestle and external standards and policies.

• Support technology and know-how transfer to the factory

• Contribute to and manage packaging specific NPD projects,

• Support the factory and marketing teams on projects and initiatives related to packaging, processes and technologies.

• Contribute to and manage projects related to packaging & process improvements within his/her area of expertise

• Be the knowledge owner for your area of expertise for the pack formats in scope.

• Manage all other factory specific packaging administration

• Working with suppliers & understanding of the end to end impact of our materials & palletised products in relation to sustainability

• Identify and execute material and process optimisation projects to minimise the cost of our products in line with TDC (Total Delivered Cost).

What will make you successful?

• Preferably a Degree in Packaging/Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Printing, Manufacturing Excellence or equivalent qualification

• Proven Track record in product development and operations or Packaging development and operations

• Working knowledge of good manufacturing principles

• Passionate about the products, consumers and category.

• Exposure to sustainability and cost improvement project/focus groups

• Committed to manufacture of safe and compliant products

What you need to know

As the successful candidate, you will have experience working in Supply Chain Ideally with a proven track record in a Supply Chain leadership position.

A key attribute is to have a proven positive record on the position Supply Planner for a big scale factory, A good awareness and understanding of business and market trends, technologies and output factory standards.

A practical understanding of risk management and scenario planning is required for this role
