Job Description:

We're recruiting a successful Plant Controller who's responsibilities will include the following:

  • Business partner : Provide financial counsel and guidance to operations' management team. Support the ongoing business activities, projects and capital investment plans. Participate in the relevant daily management meetings and Kaizen events. Financially assess scenarios / alternatives, make recommendations, identify and suggest areas for improvement.

  • Financial planning : Coordinate and guide the financial planning/forecasting process for the site. Suggest and agree financial targets with local management and Operations management (HQ). Ensure departments are part of the process and own the plan.

  • Product Costing : Determine standard unit costs for all articles processed by the plant. Request updates of the bill of material (BOM) and corresponding routers as required. Update masterdata (e.g. origin groups, valuation classes) and material prices. Make sure that the underlying cost center structure and related cost planning generate realistic machine and labor rates so that unit costs reflect cost reality. Ensure absorption of total plant costs through planned volumes and unit costs. Provide unit costs for new launch initiatives as required.

  • Monthly Closing : Prepare actual results on a monthly basis in close alignment with the relevant Accounting and other Finance departments. Ensure actual costs correspond to the produced volume and the related consumption of material and plant resources. Accrue costs where necessary. Manage the production order closing process including WIP calculation, variance analysis and order settlement. Perform quarterly obsolescence analysis to ensure valuation accuracy for the central warehouse and production inventories.

  • Support the General Accounting team pertaining to monthly account reconciliations.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop and provide monthly reporting including relevant KPI's to plant management and operations controlling. Review variation accounts and identify root causes. Highlight significant deviations and areas of concern. Suggest and agree actions to mitigate or compensate where necessary.

  • Review all Yorba Linda and Pomona purchase requisitions to ensure accurate "delegation of authority" (DOA) approvals.

  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Envista/Nobel Biocare financial policies, guidelines and accounting principles as well as with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) requirements. Develop and maintain an active internal control system (ICS / SOX) for his/her area of responsibility.

  • Lead and participate in key projects to further develop the Operations Controlling function (SAP integration, KPI definition and reporting, process harmonization).

  • Maintain SAP CO (Controlling) masterdata and reporting structures: Cost center, activity types, allocation cycles.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similar; Master’s degree is a plus

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a production/manufacturing environment.

  • Sound understanding of production controlling, product costing, accounting principles.

PREFERRED:

  • ERP experience (SAP preferred)

  • MS Excel experience (Advanced)

  • HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) is preferred

  • Excellent analytical skills – able to utilize data to identify gaps and opportunities for efficiencies

  • Questioning and challenging in a constructive way and able to recommend change

  • Reliable delivery of high quality results within fixed reporting deadlines

  • Ability to translate financial terminology in language which business partners understand

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
