Florida Crystals Corporation Senior Distribution Coordinator in Yonkers, New York

OVERVIEW

The Sr. Distribution Coordinator is responsible for customer order management and monitoring refinery logistical resources to include the drop lot. The individual drives alignment with cross-functional partners such as Customer Service, Operations, Transportation, Planning, and 3PL providers. The role will be strategic and tactical and have daily responsibilities. They will provide support to the Site Distribution team to execute the tactical logistics associated with the location’s footprint and customer base by tracking and tracing shipments as needed. Responsibilities also include 3PL order fulfillment and ensuring that all orders are posted daily at all the external/3PL warehouses the Distribution team is responsible for. A key aspect of this role is to actively participate in Distribution projects, inter-departmental projects and help drive towards achieving corporate strategic goals. This position provides developmental leadership opportunities to enhance career progression.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Back up the Distribution Manager as the direct support to the manager. This employee will have very similar responsibilities and is expected to assist wherever needed to support the Distribution Team and its daily tasks to include daily supervision of the Production Planner, Inventory Planner, and the Production Coordinator all located in Yonkers as well as be a key liaison for intercompany business transfers with Ingredients Plus in Lakeville NY.

  • Conduct analysis and provide recommendations for Supply Chain cost-reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Lead or participate in project teams to plan and execute Strategic Initiatives.

  • Develop and/or improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including cross-functional process mapping and streamlining activities.

  • Lead effort to incorporate advanced scheduling tools and optimize production planning process.

  • Primary responsibilities are similar to Distribution Coordinator, including but not limited to:

  • Review open orders, in transits, and open returns based on a daily/weekly/monthly process to ensure timely posting of orders and accurate month end closing.

  • Monitor open orders at both the refinery and 3PLs to ensure all orders shipped on time.

  • Optimize outbound truck schedule (capacity / priority) and collaborate with Operations to schedule appropriate warehouse and inbound/outbound dock staffing.

  • Monitor daily drop lot activities, ensuring maximum utilization to drive direct vs indirect shipments.

  • Provide intermittent customer service support for prepaid order movements within Refinery/3PL footprint.

  • Perform tracking and tracing of product shipments, and follow-up by interacting with customers to address their concerns.

  • Main point of contact for SAP related issues for Customer Service Specialists (CSS), carriers, other refineries and 3PLs.

  • Distribute and undistribute orders as required.

  • Identify and propose opportunities for operational improvements.

  • Review inventory accuracy at refinery and all 3PL warehouses. Initiate corrective actions (error resolution and process enhancement) for inventory discrepancies.

  • Accountable for inventory adjustments at 3PL, including tracking Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) failures related External and 3PL warehouses.

  • Communicate with the 3PL locations regarding their appointments for both customer shipments and STO receipts, while also addressing any carrier issues related to those facilities.

  • Coordinate 3PL inbound/outbound service schedule.

  • Support Supply Chain Organization in the achievement of business performance metrics, financial objectives and operational efficiency goals.

    WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning or related field

  • SAP experience required

  • Previous project management, process improvement, and / or project execution experience.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Operations, or equivalent related experience

  • MS degree preferred

  • APICS certification a plus

    REWARD PACKAGE

    The expected pay range for this position is $82,500 - $153,500 and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
