As the Purchasing Specialist you will be ensuring the requests for material, supplies or services are complied, ordered and arrives on time to meet the expectations of the requestor. You will need to have good communication that is prompt and professional. You will be a liaison between the material planning department and other internal departments and the supplier.

The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the materials required for production are available when needed

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials are available for production without overstocking.

  • Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine material requirements.

  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. This includes negotiating terms, managing relationships, and resolving any issues that arise.

  • Place orders for materials and track their progress to ensure timely delivery.

  • Monitor and control costs associated with materials procurement and inventory management.

  • Work with other departments, such as production, purchasing, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.

  • Address any issues related to material shortages, delays, or quality problems.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs related to materials planning and procurement.

Qualification & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or similar

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience

  • Proven knowledge in the area of purchasing

  • Team working capabilities

  • Strong, effective negotiation skills

  • Proven software skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, SAP is required

  • Fluent in English
