POSITION: 1 – Mechanic Facilities-Master

DEPARTMENT: Facilities

LOCATION : Yarmouth, MA

STARTING RATE OF PAY: $60.23

CURRENTLY POSTED HOURS: 7:00AM– 3:30PM

SCHEDULE: M-F

**Union Represented Position**

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

Data/Voice cabling installations and repairs. HVAC repairs, maintenance and installations. Minor Plumbing Repairs. Carpentry. Window, door and wall repairs and installations, including kinnear equipment. Furniture Repairs Inspections of mechanical equipment and facilities (roofs, HVAC equipment, doors, windows, plumbing, lighting, etc.) Lighting repairs that not require a licensed electrician. Painting and finishing buildings, equipment, furniture and motorized equipment, including yard striping. Operate equipment and tools to perform these duties, including welding and brazing. Assembling and moving of partitions, shelving etc. Maintains and services air compressors. Repairs, maintains and installs ice machines. Installs linoleum and carpet flooring. Installs and maintains locks, latches, tumbler, etc. Maintains and repairs gates, fences, gate arms, etc. Maintains and repairs emergency generators. Assist in snow removal as required. Maintains and repairs landscaping equipment. Cuts and installs glass. Other duties assigned that pertain to the maintenance of facilities, equipment and furniture. Determines materials and supplies needed and orders said items related to the above work. Completes reports and clerical duties as required for the position.

Accountability/Impact of Position:

• Employees are responsible for identifying problems, performing proper maintenance repairs and installation of moderate scope on HVAC systems, carpentry, data/voice wiring, furniture and other systems associated with the Facilities department at Eversource.
• Eversource employees’ safety, well being and productivity are affected by the quality of work performed by this position in the performance of their work at Service Centers and offices where they are required to work.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to perform moderate physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods. Must be able to respond to emergency situations when they arise.

Reports to Facilities Management Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and maintain a Massachusetts Drivers License. Must possess an aptitude for electromechanical systems: specifically industrial and commercial systems. At least 5 years industrial experience in similar work obtained within Eversource or outside in related trades connected with this job title. Be able to pass a written test and or practical demonstration in the maintenance specialty, such as, HVAC, specified with each job opening.

Additional requirements for Master Positions:

• Master Electrician: Massachusetts Master Electrician’s License.
• Master Plumber; Massachusetts Master Plumber’s License.
• HVAC Journeyman Refrigeration technician’s License.
