Job Summary

  • The Resident Assistant is accountable for providing tenant assistance with activities of daily living, medications, (if medication aide certified), housekeeping and activities according to the service plans and as assigned by the Nursing Coordinator.

  • Provides exceptional care and service to patients, residents, guests and fellow employees at all times.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital’s Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.

  • Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Certified Nurse Assistant preferred – Maintain if certified.

  • Medication Aide preferred – Maintain if certified.

  • High School diploma is required for Med Aide certification.

Work Schedule

  • Evening/Night Shifts, 6:30pm-7:00am, every third weekend, every third holiday; 48 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $18.25 - $24.00 per hour
