Avera is looking for an Ophthalmology Assistant (Non-Certified) to join our team!

Job Summary

  • Greets patients either in person or over the telephone protecting privacy.

  • Performs the initial evaluation by obtaining medical history, patient concerns, performs examination tests and prepares equipment for physician as needed.

  • Assists with surgical procedures, administers topical medications or diagnostic drugs prescribed by the physician.

  • Maintains knowledge of diagnostic coding, monitoring the completion of charge slips are accurately completed by the physician.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Experience in Medical Office setting is preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm, 64 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $18.25 - $23.00 per hour
