River City Domestic Violence / Family Connections Center Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advocate in Yankton, South Dakota
General Purpose of Position:
The DV/SA Advocate works as part of the coordinator team to provide victim center services daily. This work will be achieved by building and maintaining strong relationships with all colleagues, excellence in communication, and thriving innovative achievements and growth in all assigned special projects.

Normal Working Hours:40 hours 8:30-5 Monday-Friday and periodic on-call
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology. Human Services, other related fields or relevant experience.
- Quick problem-solving skills
- Great communication skills
- Respond to highly emotional situations while maintaining composure.
Responsibilities:
- Will carry the 24/hour crisis line as assigned -must live in Yankton or within 5 minutes of Yankton for quick response time
- Respond to crisis phone calls
- Provide direct client services such as housing, employment, and protection orders
- Data entry
- Work with the Advocate Team for client services, awareness campaigns, and volunteer efforts
- Carry the 24/7 crisis line as assigned (generally once a month)
