Ability Building Services Inc. Direct Support Supervisor -FT in YANKTON, South Dakota
**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The DSP/Supervisor is responsible for providing assessment/evaluation, instruction, supports, and services according to the Individual Service Plan goals and objectives as well as supervising, guiding, and evaluating the work of the Direct Support Professions at their location.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and feedback to DSP regarding performance related issues.
- Complete staff performance reviews as required.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to DSP as needed.
- Ensure assigned area of responsibility is appropriately staffed at all times.
- Ensure timely submission of paperwork.
- Abides by agency policies and procedures and ensures assigned staff follow policies and procedures.
- Ensure orientation is completed and documented by all new staff under your assigned area of responsibility.
General Responsibilities
- Responsibile for daily attendance, supervision, supports, and transportation of people we support based on individual needs.
- Provide information regarding the physical, mental, and financial well-being of the people we provide services to, to their respective Support Specialists, CFCM's, Supervisor, and/or Program Manager as appropriate, in writing and verbally.
- Provide services and supports to the people we serve (may include assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, shopping, cooking, etc.) as determined by the interdisciplinary team, and as instructed.
- Assist in planning and preparing meals in accordance with the dietitians' menus and specific dietary and nutritional needs of the people we serve.
- Maintain all training supplies, equipment, and work/living area in safe, clean working order, and submit maintenance forms in a timely manner as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to provide training and support, which may include lifting for medical reasons, physical interventions for behavorial reasons or other necessary emergencies.
- Must exercise sound judgment in situations requiring immediate decision-making.
