ROLE OVERVIEW

Shipping Representatives in our warehouse assist various Assembly department functions and are an important part of the team's success. They handle inventory organization and control, shipping and receiving, and assembly of kits. This is a great position for someone who likes to be involved in a variety of activities and has an interest in mechanical or electrical machine assembly. The Shipping Representative position supports Kwik Lok production activities through the manufacture of Kwik Lok closures with a focus on continuing improvement of quality, food safety, and manufacturing processes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

Shipping:

  • Review all sales orders and transfer orders prior to shipping, ensuring accuracy in quantity, product, and ship dates

  • Create shipping quotes

  • Prepare shipments and associated documentation (international, domestic, BOL, parcel, LTL, etc.)

  • Process shipments in NetSuite

  • Track and receive shipments using NetSuite

  • Responding internally and externally to issues regarding shipments

  • Use NetSuite to investigate inventory shortages and log updates

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to fulfill shipments and address issues or discrepancies

Inventory:

  • Pick and filling parts from stock

  • Cycle count

  • Perform various inventory control operations, including stocking, rotations, and movements

  • Build packaging boxes, pallets, and crates

  • Maintain inventory of packaging material

  • Operate forklift to bring pallets down from upper racks

Other Duties:

  • Pull parts

  • 3-D printing

  • Assembly of small kits

  • Mail runs

  • Daily housekeeping of work areas

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education requirements: High School Diploma

  • Experience: at least 1 year of experience in Shipping; international shipping experience a plus

  • Knowledge: Processing parcel and LTL shipments, export documentation, performing spot quotes

  • Software: Ability to use Microsoft Office software and other ERP software, NetSuite experience a plus

  • Preferred: Forklift operation certification

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screenings

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Pay scale: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

  • Insurance Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability Insurance plans (60 day waiting period)

  • Retirement Benefits: 401K Plan with company match (90 day waiting period - restrictions apply)

  • Paid Time Off: (90 day waiting period, prorated for first year)

  • Vacation: 120 hours a year, with increases based on years of service

  • Holidays: 70 hours a year (8.5 days): 1 Floating Holiday, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, half day on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

  • Sick Leave: 40 hours a year, accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked for hourly employees, salary employees prorated for first year

  • Other Compensation: Employees may be eligible for annual performance bonuses

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

  • Location: Yakima, Washington

  • Work environment: Occasionally bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking. Noise level in office environment 10dB, 85-95 dB in production environment.
