M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse RN at the M Health Fairview Wyoming Lakes Infusion Clinic located in Wyoming, MN. Our clinic hours are 7AM to 6PM Monday - Thursday and 7AM - 5PM on Fridays, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This provides an excellent work life balance!
This is a 0.5 FTE (40 hours per two week pay period) opening. This role is eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
Develops an individualized nursing plan of care.
Implements nursing interventions based on the plan of care.
Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Uses communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) by participation in any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
Additional expectations specific to the Infusion Clinic RN role:
Provides care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting with complex medical/surgical conditions such as Hematology and oncology disorders including various types of cancer:
Provides care and management to oncology and hematology patients.
· Administers antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies chemotherapy, blood products and associated medications to the adult and pediatric oncology population.
· Provide emergent cares in the event of anaphylaxis/reaction.
Manages complex medication and infusion therapy:
· Provides infusion therapy including central lines, ports, peripheral IV placement, and infusion devices.
· Chemotherapy and cytotoxic agents.
· Simultaneously manage multiple infusions.
· Adheres to applicable policy and procedures related to medication and infusion therapy.
· Maintains a high level of “PICC” competency and placement techniques.
Displays critical thinking skills while managing patients with acute and or chronic pain:
· Assesses patients for pain. Utilizes a consistent pain tool. Collaborates with patient/family and health care team to develop and execute a plan of care.
· Uses an ongoing, systematic process to gather relevant data from patient and family. Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks.
· Manages the daily flow of the infusion center ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and experience.
· Directs appropriate rooming, discharging, chart prepping, and appointment scheduling duties to the appropriate team member.
· Completes assessment while ensuring the plan of care is implemented, completes patient education, complex procedures and lab draws etc. Provide patient information and education as appropriate.
· Manages orders including accurate transcription of faxed orders, therapy and treatment plans.
· Validates outcomes and develops plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and other healthcare team members.
· Documents triage advice/recommendations in the medical record. Makes referral to appropriate level of care. Works as liaison between patients and providers.
Recognizes and incorporates ethical principles within the delivery of care:
· Facilitates transition to end of life care.
· Recognizes need for and initiates ethical consults.
Qualifications
Education
- Valid RN MN License
Experience
3+ years of nursing experience
2-3 years of chemotherapy administration and other infusion experience with competencies in IV insertions such as central lines, PICC, Ports, Peripheral IV placement and infusion devices. Experience in administering antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies, chemotherapy, blood products and associated medications.
Specific Adult or Pediatric experienced based on population served.
License/Certification/Registration
- Current Oncology Certified Nurse Certification or ability to obtain OCN certification within 1-2 years of date of hire based on FTE appointment
