The Transload Operator primary responsibility is to load and unload railcars safely and timely at the new Savage Operation in Wynnewood OK. It is expected the loader operator will have the ability to understand and follow Savage rail operating procedures and policies based on classroom and field training. The loading operator will be expected to deliver “worry-free consistency” to our Customer by safely and efficiently switching, loading, and unloading railcars. The loader operator will report directly to the Operations Manager with daily instructions provided by the Team Lead

    Responsibilities / Job Duties

  • Responsible for the daily required volume of railcar loading and unloading, along with safe railcar switching at the Savage Wynnewood OK, operation

  • Will operate a locomotive – Savage will provide training and certification

  • Will operate on ground as switchman- Savage will provide training and certification

  • Will work in all areas of the loading and unloading areas

  • Thoroughly inspecting railcars before they are loaded for quality control purposes

  • Performing pre-shift maintenance walk downs of the entire loading system

  • Will work in a team environment to safely perform the daily work responsibilities

  • The loading operator is expected to be cross trained and be willing to assist in the different rail-centric functions at the facility

  • Team members will perform preventive maintenance on equipment

  • Will provide front-line compliance with Savage 5S cleanliness and orderliness standards

    Requirements/Qualifications

  • An understanding and willingness to act on communication and direction

  • Ability to attend and pass all training associated with job related coursework. This includes but is not limited to: OSHA, HazMat and FRA related courses

  • A willingness to complete any assigned task(s) Team Member has been trained on

  • A desire to learn the skills necessary to do the job safely

  • Ability to complete basic data entry tasks in a computer, with training provided

  • For safety reasons, must be able to read, write and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English

  • May have the opportunity to participate in Safety Training Programs which may require travel

  • Willing to, on occasion, travel to other sites to assist them in switching their facilities and training requirements
