About the project: 

We are looking for part-time (with up to 100% potential availability) contractors with a technology stack that aligns with modern requirements and might be considered for any projects in Softjourn that are looking for experienced .Node.js Developers engineers for temporary (or permanent) assignments.

Typical projects have the following traits:

• It has a RESTful Application Programming Interface system under maintenance, a Web application for customers, a Website for guests and a dashboard.

• It's using PostgreSQL and MySQL RDS as DBs. 

• Project hosted on AWS. 

• Project technologies:

  back-end: Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis.

  front-end:  React.

  tools: npm, grunt, webpack.

  Requirements:

  • Experience with Node.js for more than 5 years;

  • Experience with TypeScript;

  • Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, Postgres, Mongo) and JavaScript ORM's;

  • Experience with integrating third-party API's;

  • Experience with creating REST API's;

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Object-Oriented Design patterns, principles, and computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms;

  • English on an upper-intermediate level.

  Will be a plus:

  • Frameworks (Express, NestJS);

  • Experience with Docker environment;

  • Familiar with AWS;

  • Code audit experience.

  Responsibilities:

  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications;

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code;

  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications;

  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues;

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization;

  • Help improve all the products the team works on by participating in Agile team meetings;

  • Use Jira to track, manage, and document reported bugs.
