POSITION OVERVIEW
DEFTEC Corporation seeks a mid-level career Program Manager with experience supporting Science & Technology programs and projects to support the Air Force Research Laboratory, Transformational Capabilities Office (TCO)-specifically the Explore (6.2) and WARTECH (6.3) portfolios .
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and track multiple interdisciplinary efforts simultaneously across a technology-agnostic portfolio, including the development and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules, including milestones and deadlines
Support the creation of appropriate metrics across the program and portfolio to support analyzing trends, challenges, and opportunities
Develop and maintain documentation throughout the life of efforts, including baseline documentation, briefing material, and work units
Support teams in the creation and tracking of spend plans to report on any issues or opportunities through the execution
Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with the Explore and/or WARTECH Process Lead to implement changes to optimize project tracking, management, and execution
As assigned by the Explore and/or WARTECH Process Lead, manage and lead efforts to include organizing project teams, working with and gathering information from contractors, creating recommendations for the broader TCO program management team, and briefing efforts to leadership and stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
Technical Agility: have previous experience working with programs across multiple technical disciplines, or the ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and learn necessary technical depth to conduct position activities-not as a Subject Matter Expert, but sufficiently informed to work alongside technical leads
Self-Motivated: the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiate activities independently in a fast-paced environment
10+ years of experience in S&T project/program management
Master's Degree in a related field
Active secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting R&D S&T projects for the federal government at an agency like DARPA
