The individual in this position can be located at any one of the following locations: Jacksonville FL, Wright Patterson AFB, OH or the Washington, DC area.

The F-35 Lightning II Program is the Department of Defense's focal point for defining affordable next generation strike aircraft weapon systems for the Navy, Air Force, Marines, and our allies. The F-35 will bring cutting-edge technologies to the battlespace of the future. The JSFs advanced airframe, autonomic logistics, avionics, propulsion systems, stealth, and firepower will ensure that the F-35 is the most affordable, lethal, supportable and survivable aircraft ever to be used by so many warfighters across the globe.

HOW OUR SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated solution.

  • Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems.

  • Directs overall system level testing.

  • Has programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems and guide the engineering development of modern systems; and to employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems. Integrating, planning, coordinating, and facilitating system related activities such as upgrade of hardware and software, program and system design development of air system ground support hardware, and software.

  • Analyzing the Tier 0 through Tier 4 requirements, decomposing them, allocating them to lower Tiers.

  • From an operational and strategic perspective, determines immediate and long-range personnel and equipment requirements, ensuring the availability, continuity, and security of The weapons platform from a cyber perspective.

  • Recommending and supporting process improvement initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):

  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret

  • Required Technical Skills:

  • 15 years of experience in the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces, and all system level requirements to provide an integrated solution.

  • 5 years experience in requirements engineering.

  • Experience in requirements definition and decomposition, system design development, and documentation.

  • Experience in assuring system is designed with security from the ground up – assuring all cyber requirements are identified and flowed throughout the various levels of system requirements.

  • Experience performing logical and physical system design and reviews and prepares system documents and specifications.

  • Experience conducting technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with system, preparing reports, studies and documentation.

  • Experience addressing special problem areas and administering solutions to complex areas of the network, including security analysis and planning.

  • Required Certifications: 8140 Work Role is (651) Enterprise Architect.

  • Education: ABET Systems Engineering Degree or equivalent. An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for an MS or MA degree.

  • Location : Jacksonville FL, Wright Patterson AFB OH or in the Washington, DC area.

The likely salary range for this position is $154,960 - $178,204. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
