Program Summary:

The Air Force Research Laboratory is the primary scientific research and development center for the Department of the Air Force. AFRL plays an integral role in leading the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for our air, space, and cyberspace force. The Air Force Research Laboratory leads the discovery, development and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for our air, space and cyberspace forces.

Job Summary:

The AFRL Sensors Directorate (RY) conducts both in-house and contractual efforts focused on affordable sensor and countermeasure technologies for reconnaissance, surveillance, precision engagement, and electronic warfare systems. Core technology areas include radio frequency and electro-optical sensing, electromagnetic spectrum warfare, multi-domain sensing autonomy, resilient mission systems, and enabling devices and components. The candidate will support and advise within AFRL/RY and must understand strategic planning and partnering.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Performs program analysis and deputy functions for capability area programs including but not limited to:

  • Performs horizon scanning for high priority mission areas

  • Analyzes and synthesizes relevant capability information from DDS team ops analysis

  • Drafts program plans and proposals for externals such as RDERs, WARTECH, DARPA etc.

  • Facilitates technology transition by drafting tech transition plans and performing customer outreach

  • Facilitates PMRs to include drafting slides and coordinating meetings

  • Drafts program documentation including but not limited to: contract documentation (e.g. CDRLs, DD254s etc.), program plans, contractor tasking, etc.

  • Assists with reviewing, analyzing, and archiving program data (e.g. financial data and performance data) and work unit items such as CDRLs

Basic Qualifications:

  • AFRL technical experience related to microelectronics, sensors, and/or program management (15 years)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, and independent decision-making skills are required

  • Must be a US citizen and meet Air Force Research Laboratory requirements to access Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Security Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred
