Manulife Head of Sales Guaranteed Wealth Solutions in Work At Home, Ontario

As the Head of Guaranteed Wealth Solutions Sale, you will report into the Head Retail Distribution and lead a team of national sales professionals focused on guaranteed wealth solutions (Seg Funds, GIAs and Annuities). We are looking for someone who can lead a high-performing team by establishing a cohesive vision, setting clear job expectations, and driving business outcomes with a high level of engagement. In close collaboration with the Director, Inside Sales, Guaranteed Wealth Solutions, the National Vice President, Seg Funds and the Director Sales Enablement and Effectiveness along with our strategic partners (including portfolio managers, product, marketing, tax, and estate planning), you will seek to drive sales into our guaranteed wealth solutions (Seg Funds, GIAs and Annuities) platforms.

The role of the External Guaranteed Wealth Solutions team at Manulife focuses on prospecting for new clients (advisors), rekindling relationships with advisors who have stopped supporting Manulife, building relationships with advisors who have just begun to do business with us, and partnering with Internal Wholesalers to cover the top clients in the region.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct management and team meetings, drive sales campaigns, and develop training initiatives to enhance involvement with key distributors, vendors, and internal groups.

  • Represent Guaranteed Wealth Solutions (Seg Funds, GIAs and Annuities) at the highest level in external and inter-departmental relationships.

  • Participate in the Retail Distribution Leadership Team to set strategic direction and provide tactical support.

  • Set the annual team budget and ensure the team has the necessary tools and training while adhering to the budget.

  • Establish internal partnerships with various departments including Client Services, Training and Development, HR, Product, Marketing, e-Business, Portfolio Management, IT, Telephony, Institutional Sales, and Business Analysts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Senior-level sales management experience from within the Canadian investment industry, combined with approximately 10 years of experience as an individual sales rep.

  • Experience in sales program development, compensation plan modeling, budget management, policy and reporting expertise, systems management, and recruitment initiatives.

  • Experience in building and executing Individual Development Plans, setting goals for a team, and measuring performance using metrics.

  • Comfortable planning for promotion transition, sharing disciplinary expertise, and presentation and promotional abilities with direct reports.

  • Excellent relationship management capabilities, combined with strong leadership, social, and management skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively throughout the organization.

  • Strategic thinker, with a strong affinity for change management and implementation.

  • Excellent business insight, ability to communicate, concise decision maker, and deeply effective in interactions with others.

  • Tenaciously committed to the ongoing improvement, development, and success of the Guaranteed Wealth Solutions team and the overall success of the sales organization.

  • Expert understanding of leadership and the art of sales, with significant experience in the investment business.

  • Demonstrated relationship and leadership skills as well as a consistent track record of sales and operational effectiveness.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
