Manulife Portfolio Manager in Work At Home, Canada
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Portfolio Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the strategic portfolio plan, maintaining ongoing internal commentary surrounding our progress against strategic objectives and providing regular reporting on progress, financial results, and KPIs to relevant leadership teams. Partners with the AVP Strategic Transformation & Delivery, Finance, and IT delivery teams to optimize planning, data gathering, and reporting tools and processes through automation and standardization to drive efficiency and ensure consistency.
The Portfolio Manager is an integral contributor to the ST&D team with the goal to define, champion, and drive goals in alignment to the organization's strategic objectives and client/customer needs, providing the right data and insights at the right time to help stakeholders solve challenging problems.
Individual Accountabilities:
Establish a strategic portfolio plan. Including but not limited to:
Coordination of the planning and initiation of portfolios at various levels of completion
Monitoring progress, financials, and schedule of a portfolio
Communicating with portfolio and project stakeholders
Creating rules and procedures for making portfolio decisions
Maintain internal commentary and regular reporting on strategic objectives, financial results, and KPIs for leadership teams and maintain ongoing portfolio analytics and commentary for internal stakeholders.
Partner with Delivery and Finance teams to compile updates into weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
Contribute to comprehensive progress reports with an objective view on achieving objectives.
Collaborate with strategic teams to enhance planning, data gathering, and reporting through automation and standardization.
Analyze portfolio metadata and maintain a dashboard of strategic initiatives to support KPI objectives.
Develop ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested in collaboration with Finance teams ensures that project portfolio aligns with financial planning for the business.
Required Qualifications:
Project/Program Management Experience - Project planning, project documentation, tracking progress, stakeholder management.
Working knowledge and experience with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid project management concepts, practices, and deliverables
Has a fundamental understanding of the business and understands industry trends
Strong ability to demonstrate a global view of portfolio reporting engaging a wide audience in data collection, sharing a strategic view, synthesizing large volumes of data to bring together a succinct view of the portfolio.
Supports the processes associated with the capture, catalogue, and general oversight of the segment portfolio
An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Entrepreneurial spirt and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment,
Actively embraces change efforts and initiatives to manage portfolio disruptions.
Ensure that initiatives comply with DoA and ODF framework and identify exceptions for escalation.
5 years’ experience or a combination of education and experiences
Identifies escalation items early and produces options for resolution
Partners effectively with cross functional and virtual teams by demonstrating collaboration, adaptability, and influencing.
Fully bilingual (French/English): The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between
$81,450.00 CAD - $146,610.00 CAD
