Position Summary
CVS Media Exchange [CMX] is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS’s in-store and online data, extensive reach, and to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service; these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers.
CVS Health’s Strategy and Partnership team is seeking an experienced Strategic Development Lead Director to help drive our CMX Strategy. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, creative thinker with the ability to work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions for our partners and their teams. The
candidate will have experience working within a matrixed organization as well as experience in leading, coaching and influencing people. Candidates must have strong consultative sales skills, a collaborative and innovative spirit, and be extremely comfortable dealing with ambiguity. We are looking for a high caliber, experienced, and motivated strategic development professional with experience building and/or executing strategic analyses critical to the long-term growth of CMX.
Responsibilities:
Lead CMX strategy development and deployment.
Own the CMX strategy framework and development.
Lead the execution of the monetization strategy through strategic partnerships withbusinesses, developers, tech platforms, data aggregators, advertising platforms, and leading media publishers.
Ongoing development of our Pharma/Rx initiative to enable our partners to invest and measure their investment across the CMX platform.
Align strategy to deal flow by identifying potential strategic partners, design creative commercial constructs, lead complex negotiations, and identify win-win scenarios/solutions and bring these partners to the execution stage.
Work closely and collaborate with product, partnerships, marketing, PR, legal and finance to build business cases that support the strategic plan.
C-level and senior management exposure with partners is common.
Ultimately this strategy will improve the long-term, overall value proposition for CVS Health’s Monetization ecosystem by driving growth and value that we can leverage to monetize with our supplier and media partners.

Location - Travel up to 20% of the time, including regular trips to Woonsocket, RI. Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic partnerships or business development, structuring and negotiating complex agreements, including interpreting legal documents and work with attorneys to complete agreements.
Preferred Qualifications
Collaboration and relationship-building experience — with the experience developing working relationships at all levels of management.
Experience defining, developing, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Experience working with Product to define product strategy and product requirements.
Experience negotiating complex agreements and finding win-win solutions.
Experience co-creating innovative new offerings in collaboration with partners.
High level of enthusiasm and innovation with experience to adapt easily to change and multitask.
Interpersonal skills and experience developing working relationships inside and outside CVS Health.
Experience in being creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
Effective presentation and communication skills.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent (HS Diploma and 4 years of experience) required
MBA preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
