We are hiring a Certified Medicine Aide to join our dynamic care team at Oakland Grove in Woonsocket!

Full-time, part-time, and per diem available on 7a-3p and 3p-11p. Weekly pay with an hourly rate up to $21.

As the Med Aide, you prepare, administer, and document oral, topical, and other medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have an active and unencumbered CNA license in this state.

  • Medicine Aide certification.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cleans and maintains medicine cart/medicine room, restocking supplies, as necessary.

  • Administers medications safely, accurately, on time and to the right resident.

  • Observes resident to assure medication has been taken.

  • Performs temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and charts, as requested.

  • Charts administration of medications accurately on appropriate medication kardexes, following proper procedures.

  • Gives status report to Charge Nurse toward the end of the shift to assist with preparation of the unit report for the oncoming shift. Prepares list of PRN medication administered during shift.

  • Other duties assigned by manager(s).

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.

  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.

  • Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills.
