Purpose of Job:

A senior level Quality professional that supports the development and maintenance of site-specific Quality Systems to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, standards, and Bausch + Lomb QMS requirements.

Key Activities:

  • Quality System Program Support and/or owner for: Non-conformance/CAPA, Change Control, Document Management, Records Management, Data Integrity, Validation, Risk Management, Training, Customer Service Complaints, Supplier Management, Auditing (internal/supplier), compilation of site quality/compliance metrics to support Management Oversight inputs, and verification of released finished goods.

  • Lead Transportation and Distribution partners’ qualifications & reporting for US in alignment with supply chain distribution plan. Quality system support and supplier qualification activities for various third-party logistics centers and transportation suppliers, as requested.

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of efficient, effective, and compliant quality systems at the distribution level supporting product record reviews/systematic releases.

  • Support the systematic control of non-conforming material and corrections/removals, where applicable. Coordinates activities of the various functional areas whenever a critical quality issue is discovered.

  • Keeps senior management updated on compliance issues that occur. Proposes solutions with action plans to resolve, when appropriate.

  • Leads cross functional teams to drive compliance and quality improvements across departments and sites, as it relates to warehousing, distribution, and transportation.

  • Supports external audits, as assigned.

  • Provides direction and coordination of quality activities utilizing continuous quality improvement principles and methodologies when systemic weaknesses are identified. Independently leads failure investigations, using root cause analysis tools and can propose the implementation of corrective and preventive action plans.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Position may require up to 30% travel.

Sope of Position:

Support Quality System initiatives including warehousing, distribution/transportation of Consumer Goods and Pharmaceuticals at the Greenville-Woodruff Distribution Center and third-party logistics centers. Support Global initiatives as well.

B+L DC Quality representative for third-party logistics.

Participation on local and global committees, as requested.

Reports into the Sr. Manager, Quality at the Greenville-Woodruff Distribution Center

Key Relationships:

Internal working relationships include site Operations, site Inventory Control and site Facilities.

External-internal working relationships include off-site Operations (Greenville & Tampa Manufacturing), off-site Quality (eg, Regulatory, contract manufacturing Quality), Customer Service, Corporate Logistics and Supply Chain.

External working relationships include third-party logistics centers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality in an FDA regulated industry.

Distribution center/logistics experience a plus.

ASQ Certification (eg, CQA, CQE) desirable

Strong compliance audit, analytical, and computer skills to include Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Experience with logistics systems for inventory control and distribution a plus
