Position Overview

We are adding a Supply Chain Contracts Specialist to our procurement team based out of our Woodcliff Lake NJ office, to support various projects and market areas in the North East and Mid Atlantic regions!. In this role, you will be involved in the complete life cycle of the supply chain, with emphasis on high-risk/legal related support and a heavy focus on the development, review, negotiation and administration of sub/supplier contracts for Kiewit across multiple market areas, including Infrastructure, Transportation, Power, Industrial and Water engineering and construction. You will be involved in supply chain contract activities for materials, equipment and/or services for your assigned projects from the RFP stage, through final delivery and contract closeout, and will be a key point of contact for vendors interfacing with project personnel in all manners necessary to manage the contract and ensure the work product meets the needs of the project. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their ccareer that have experience and/or interest in learning supply chain functions, strong attention to detail, and prior experience with procurement, construction, and/or engineering.

Individuals with procurement experience in Supply Chain Management, Contract Execution and Contracts Management as well as in an engineering and/or construction related role is desired. Location

This position is based at the Woodcliff Lake, NJ district office OR at our jobsite locations within New Jersey, New York and across the Northeast. District office-based positions will have opportunity to travel as required to projects around the Northeast.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all aspects of supply chain management and procurement support for our projects, including but not limited to contract development, execution, administration, and management.

  • Liaise effectively amongst legal, construction, engineering, and management to timely and efficiently execute contracts and escalate and resolve issues.

  • Implement and maintain consistent procurement practices and procedures to deliver value add services to our projects in accordance with project, district and corporate policy and expectations.

  • Act as a front line resource for all things Procurement for our projects including supplier quality surveillance, logistics, expediting, materials management and category management,

  • Cross functional coordination amongst multiple disciplines, departments, projects, and districts,

  • Management of ERP administration, procurement reporting, and issue escalation/coordination.

  • Procurement documentation drafting, reviewing, coordination of internal/external approvals as appropriate, negotiating, execution, administration, document control and issue mitigation.

  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships and assist/manage vendor negotiations.

  • Coordinate with staff, users and vendors to address defective work or unacceptable goods or services and determine appropriate corrective action.

  • Leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to projects.

  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history.

  • Monitor shipments to ensure equipment and materials arrive in an appropriate timeframe and of appropriate quality that the meet project requirements, and work with the projects to timely escalate and resolve delivery and/or quality issues.

  • Prepare/issue Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals to identify vendors/subcontractors who meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating, execution and site purchasing levels.

  • Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates.

  • Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts for various projects.

  • Work to resolve escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues.

  • Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related/relevant experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Contracts, Engineering and/or Construction related role

  • Minimum of 3 years' negotiation experience (preferred)

  • Experience and understanding of Contracts

  • Thorough understanding of all areas of procurement is desirable, including without limitation procurement execution, estimating, expediting, contracts management and closeout

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)

  • General knowledge of database utilization and ERP functionality experience is a plus

  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

Base Compensation: $84,000/yr - $88,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
