Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Long Island, NY

Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, and accounts receivable, inclusive of posting payments.

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and yearly closings.

  • Assist with the preparation of balance sheets and income statements.

  • Ensure company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and reporting requirements.

  • Collaborate with other team members to carry out tasks and projects as directed.

  • Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant accounting experience, public or private.

  • Solid understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP.

  • Experience with financial software, notably Dynamics 365 or Netsuite is a plus.

  • Skills in using Excel, particularly in creating pivot tables and vlookups.

  • Excellent communication, analytical and project management skills.

  • Effective interpersonal and time management skills to be able to cope in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to discern data for accuracy and keen attention to detail.
