Misumi USA Purchasing Manager in Woodbridge, Ontario
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for Purchasing and inventory of raw material, shop & office supplies and any capital expenditures to meet all facets of production, stock room and office requirements. Accountable for achievement of and sustaining on time delivery from our suppliers, outside services and sub-contractors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote, maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping by example and in accordance with Company Health & Safety Policies/Procedures and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Purchase raw material & WIP to support production requirements.
Establish effective inventory management activities for WIP and raw materials.
Responsible to ensure all visual schedule carts are pulled & released to production floor as per system.
Ensure the integrity of our inventory and receiving data entry.
Track and report on daily subcontractors including coating, heat treat and all subcontractors
Develop, Implement and support inventory Improvement Programs and stock control.
Purchase shop supplies and office supplies as required for supporting day to day operations.
Develop and manage suppliers and subcontractors.
Find alternate suppliers and cost improvement projects.
Work with Sales department to procure and develop carbide business.
All other duties assigned by your manager.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in capital expenditures and equipment purchases.
Coordinate effective inventory management activities for all FGs, WIP, and Raw materials.
Assist with inspection and training of employees to conduct same.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Post Secondary School in Related Courses (i.e. CAPICS, PMAC, College Production and Inventory Control Programs)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Several years of experience in Purchasing and Inventory Control
Purchasing program and inventory control systems.
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
Continuous interfacing with Production, Shipping, Engineering, Customer Service. Occasional customer contact.
COMPLEXITY OF TASKS
Must review the information at hand to maintain inventory that meets the Production team needs.
Manage on time delivery from suppliers to ensure DLC OTD requirements are achievable.
Highlight any delivery concerns and work to resolve with Supplier and communicate with General Manager.
