Robert Half Tax Manager - Public in Wood Ridge, New Jersey

Description We are in search of a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team based in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. This role operates within the public sector and revolves around managing tax-related matters, particularly concerning individual and small business returns. The chosen candidate will also be tasked with fostering the growth of a CPA firm in Bergen county, which involves reviewing the work of junior employees and providing necessary training.

Responsibilities:

• Manage individual and small business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations

• Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of junior employees to promote their professional growth and maintain the quality of work

• Conduct regular training sessions for employees to keep them updated on the latest tax regulations and accounting software systems

• Oversee bookkeeping tasks to maintain accurate financial records and support decision-making processes

• Utilize various accounting software systems such as ADP - Financial Services, CCH ProSystem Fx, and CCH Sales Tax to perform daily duties

• Implement ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems to improve business operations and efficiency

• Ensure all accounting functions are accurately completed within given deadlines

• Conduct auditing processes to verify the correctness of financial information and detect any discrepancies

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations related to entity formation, income tax accounting, and federal income tax return

• Manage and resolve any customer inquiries related to credit applications and accounts. Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of five years of experience in the role of a Tax Manager in a public setting

• Proficiency required in Accounting Software System

• Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is expected

• Proficient in managing Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Income Tax Accounting is crucial

• Must be experienced in preparing Federal Income Tax Returns
