Acosta Europe is a people business with a progressive approach, we operate as part of one of the largest Sales and Marketing agencies in the world. As part of our plans for growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a People Business Partner to join our UK head office team based in Woking.

As a trusted partner to the business, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the HR strategy, by providing pragmatic advice and insight led guidance, for talent and organisational development initiatives. The role would suit an HR Assistant or HR Advisor looking to take their first step into business partnering.

Additionally, you will partner with line managers to deliver effective business outcomes and enhance the employee experience, by providing expert advice and support. You will deliver a high quality, professional and valued service to all colleagues, based on sound commercial understanding and current HR knowledge. You will also be required to advise on TUPE, redundancy, reward, benefits and other related matters.

Role Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Employee Relations

  1. Keep abreast of developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice. Knowledge share with colleagues to ensure continuous development and improvement in the service offered.

  2. Advise and coach managers on matters including performance, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE and dispute resolution activities ensuring company policy and employment legislation is adhered to.

  3. Develop and maintain company policies and guidelines in line with best practice and current employment law regulations.

  4. Consult with employment lawyers for expert advice and guidance to mitigate risk and commercial exposure.

  5. Monitor employee relations activity, provide insight and make recommendation based on findings.

  6. Create focus on fleet management and support line manages and colleagues to minimise risk to personal safety.

  7. Be a custodian of the company policies and 8 ways of working by active demonstration, commitment and adherence (i.e. lead by example).

Stakeholder Management

  1. Develop trusted and valued relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. Account Manager/Controller, centre and field managers).

  2. Gain a good understanding of the business operation, its performance drivers and metrics, in order to tailor value-added initiatives, to enhance colleague experience and deliver desired outcomes.

  3. Collaborate with wider HR/People Team (e.g. Talent and Development) on key people initiatives including, but not limited to, the design and delivery of training, talent attraction and onboarding.

  4. Work in partnership with Payroll to maintain the integrity of the people master data and ensure timely and accurate data transfers.

  5. Develop professional alliances with third-party vendors (benefits provider, insurer, fleet management etc).

  6. In collaboration with key HR stakeholders, successfully deliver the HR/People strategy.

System Management

  1. Assume responsibility for maintaining the relevant HRIS (e.g. Cascade).

  2. Train and coach inexperienced users, compile user training material and implement ad hoc initiatives to close any knowledge gaps, to improve user’s skill and knowledge.

  3. Adopt our ways of working to drive efficiency and effectiveness for HR/People team and for line managers (e.g. workflows), and introduce processes that maintain the integrity of the data.

  4. Undertake regular audits checks and introduce good governance where required.

Data and Reporting

  1. Administer our people-related information and data in a sensitive manner, to safeguard colleague confidentiality and maintain the integrity of the data/information stored.

  2. Generate timely reports and share data and insight with key stakeholders.

  3. Review data, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on findings.

Projects

  1. Critically review transactional work and operational processes regularly and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  2. Engage with and contribute to the successful delivery of colleague-related projects (e.g. reward and benefits review, job evaluation, data, insights, etc).

  3. Commit and contribute to the successful delivery of selected/allocated cross-functional projects and assignments.

  2. Maintain knowledge of HR best practice and current trends.

  6. Adhere to General Data Protection Rules (GDPR) and policies.

  7. Assume responsibility for smooth running of front of house reception when necessary.

Person Specification:

  1. Strong professional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at various levels within the company.

  2. Excellent customer service or stakeholder management skills, with an ability to build rapport and trust.

  3. Adaptable, with a willingness to reprioritise based on operational or business needs.

  4. A strong multi-taker who can plan, organise, follow-up and follow-through to task completion.

  5. Solutions-orientated.

  6. Good decision-making skills.

  7. A passion for detail.

  8. A desire to grow and learn.

  9. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Education / Qualifications required

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  2. Previous experience in a similar role with an employee relations focus.

  3. CIPD level 5 or working towards the qualification would be an advantage.

  4. Familiar with regulations and governance pertaining to employment law in the UK.

  5. Competent user of HRIS – Cascade would be an advantage.
