Job Summary :

The Senior Manager of Organizational Development is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of organizational development solutions that differentiate the employee experience – significantly contributing to the enterprise HR vision to “empower leaders to deliver Epic Service to their teams and our guests the company mission to create experiences of a Lifetime for our employees so they can create the Experience of a Lifetime for our guests, and our collective ambition to be the “greatest leadership company in the world.” The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for talent development and a high level of demonstrated learning agility. The Senior Manager will lead cross-functionally to integrate work in service of data-driven outcomes that deliver critical workforce capability.

The Senior Manager of Organizational Development will report to the Senior Director of Learning & Organizational Development, lead the Learning Delivery team including a Manager of Learning Delivery, several facilitators and a program manager, and serve as a key member of the Learning & Organizational Development leadership team.

*Job Responsibilities: *

  • Leads organizational development priorities for Vail Resorts, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to assess, design/refine, implement, and evaluate interventions and programs that enable organization capability building to drive business outcomes

  • Actively prepares for and participates in defined management routines to drive alignment around OD priorities with the support of the Sr Director L&OD. Drives a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of prioritized programs and interventions, seeking feedback, monitoring outcomes, and making iterative adjustments as needed.

  • Proactively assesses and refines strategies to assess and resolve organizational needs, workforce skills requirements and gaps, and competencies employees need to drive the business/organization forward. Leverages data and analytical skills to build fit-for-purpose solutions in service to prioritized talent strategies.

  • Contributes to a culture of leadership, learning and development through a sustainable, fit-for-purpose ecosystem. Drives engagement and active learning and development through refining norms and conditions within Vail Resorts to ensure that employees can grow effectively through systemic tools and processes.

  • Advises cross-functional partners and business stakeholders in the building of tools and experiences that leverage best-practice and innovative modalities aligned to our leadership, learning and service-based culture.

  • Ensures equitable design and delivery of interventions and designs tools to build organizational capability to lead with equity, contributing to our company's DEI strategic talent priority.

  • Adopts agile processes and practices to accelerate and improve the L&OD function.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 8+ years leading organizational development initiatives and teams, preferably in a consultancy or medium-large company

  • 2+ years managing others

  • Ability to lead with a consultative approach, providing guidance and advice effectively for impact

  • Demonstrated track record of designing engaging and impactful solutions that improve individual, team, and company performance

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change that drives business outcomes

  • Self-driven with capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders, members of the HR team, and multiple stakeholders throughout the company driving critical talent initiative

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce high-quality deliverables

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $103,596 - $140,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays. Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate. This includes: California, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
