Overview

THE ROLE:

The 1st shift OJT Trainer for Sanitation supports all operations departments through the development, implementation and maintenance of all training programs as they relate to manufacturing. The OJT Trainer ensures consistency and integrity of employee training and certification. This position will ensure employees are provided with accurate and effective work instructions and other documentation critical to the performance of their jobs and in compliance with FDA, cGMP and other regulatory agencies.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Assess relevant training needs for staff and the facility in consultation with department heads, including assessment methods and measurement systems.

  • Support department supervisors and managers to ensure that SOP training of all employees is kept current and in compliance.

  • Keep supervisor/manager informed of trainee’s progress; coach/re-train where needed to improve performance.

  • Complete ongoing training with all of assigned area personnel to refresh current operator’s skill set and validate skills are current.

  • Assist with the development of tests and exams that adequately measure a trainee’s comprehension of the subject matter through verbal, written and physical demonstrations of the training material.

  • Assist with the development of training aids such as manuals and handbooks.

  • Assist with all toolbox activities.

  • Execute training plans for individual employees.

  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.

  • Organize training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery.

  • Monitor and maintain complete, accurate and current training records.

  • Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organizational, statutory, federal, state and regulatory agencies and laws.

  • Able and available to provide training on all shifts as needed and on weekends as required.

  • Participate in developmental programs (i.e. Train-the-Trainer, Effective Training, refresher training, etc.) as required by the Training Department.

  • Ensure trainee completes training requirements for the assign job title/function.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills:

  • Proficient in delivering effective training to on the floor operations employees

  • Flexibility/Adaptability to a fast-paced environment

  • Flexibility in shift and work hours, this position will be required to work on various shifts.

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated history of excellent coaching skills and developing others

  • Firm understanding of cGMP, OSHA, FDA and other manufacturing training requirements

  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio

  • Clear, concise and comprehensive verbal and written communication skills required

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment

  • 1-2 years of cross-functional experience within a Sanitation or Manufacturing environment

  • Performing audits on training needs

  • Knowledge of training methodologies

  • Familiarity with Chemical Handling, Chemical Batching, Chemical Titration utilized within the day to day HIM environment.

Education:

  • Associates degree or equivalent training and development work experience
