WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SR MANAGER PROCUREMENT INDIRECT MATERIALS.

SENIORITY LEVEL: Mid Senior Level

LOCATION: Winston-Salem, NC

ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

To lead the strategic sourcing of indirect materials and services for Reynolds American for our modern oral (MO) expansion program through the development and execution of innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies to deliver a significant competitive advantage for the company. This position provides leadership, through influence, to a team of Procurement Professionals responsible for end-to-end Procurement of assigned categories related to the MO Expansion Program. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth deliver, installation and execution of the vital goods and services for the successful delivery of the program goals and objectives. Key elements of the role will be:

  • coordination of communication, deliverables and activities across our global colleagues, key partners, suppliers, and senior leadership ensuring engagement and alignment

  • project management of the program from a procurement perspective

  • leadership through influencing others to ensure the detailed delivery of the needed goods and services

  • driving the successful execution of all activities in a timely manner

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

Reports to: Sr Director Indirect Procurement

Number of Direct Reports: N/A

Core Relationships Internal – Key customers and partners across all levels within Reynolds American, entire Reynolds American Procurement organization, and counterparts with Global BAT including: Operations Leadership Team ,Operations and Manufacturing teams (including Engineering), Local Finance, Global Procurement team (Global Head of Indirects, Global Category Managers, Global Sourcing Managers, Global Sustainability team, GBS (Cost Rica and Malaysia)

External – Vendors/Suppliers

Geographic Scope: Local

Travel Required: Up to 30%

  • Leads partners, suppliers and teammates in proactively resolving conflict through facilitation, negotiation and influencing.

  • Ability to bring others along with you on your journey by building trust and rapport. Able to get your point across in a way that changes others’ behaviours. Proactively Working to influence the customer community to ensure proper policies, tools and processes are being driven to ensure the optimal result of the sourcing activities. Uses active listening, reasoning skills and can inspire confidence in your ideas and concepts.

  • Highly proficient in finding gaps, risks and opportunities using data, trends and market forces, driving the move from tactical to strategic and reactive to proactive. Showcasing your ability to measure and record Procurement impact influencing the organization. Applying data to help communicate and story tell to help influence the broader partner community.

  • Strong understanding of e-procurement processes, systems and tools and adopts technology and understands the importance of adopting technology to perform their role. Acts as a champion for technology across the organization, using technology daily to perform better in their role.

  • Highly skilled at the ability to be concise, accurate and timely in your ability to disseminate information to whomever needs it. An increasing awareness and continuous improvement of your communication style. The ability to keep things concise using plain easily understandable language.

  • Highly skilled at understanding the financial effects and relationships of various aspects of the business. Has a strong proficiency of applying financial concepts, metrics, and analysis to make sound judgements, decisions, and practices. Highly capable of "speaking the language" of the business and translating Procurement language into language our partners can understand.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience conducting and leading the strategic sourcing process to ensure the proper execution of sourcing activities. Experience leading sophisticated negotiations while using the appropriate process and tools.

  • Validated experience with project management methodologies, tools and systems

  • Ability to communicate effectively upwards and downwards throughout the organization using key tools and programs. The ability to influence and inspire change while ensuring execution

  • Proficiency with SAP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.).

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Science, Engineering or Business Management, or related field and 7-10 years of experience Or Post Graduate Degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or related field and 7+ years of relevant work experience Or 12+ years of work experience.

BENEFICIAL

  • Continuous improvement background a plus (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)

  • Proficiency in a Contract Lifecycle Management application (iCertis).

  • Proficiency of eRFX applications (Coupa)

  • Preferably, candidates that would have experience working in a highly regulated environment.
