Your Opportunity

The successful candidate will work on challenging and diverse tasks in a construction administration that will require application of technical skills, project delivery, and leadership for construction projects. Specifically, you will be the resident Site Reviewer for an exciting project in a remote northern Manitoba community.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the site liaison between the Architectural and Engineering Design team and the construction works on site. You will be the "eyes and ears" of the design team with their full support throughout the project.

  • Assists in reviewing projects during construction, monitoring conformance with plans, specifications, and other codes and regulations.

  • Assists in monitoring the progress of construction activities, ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.

  • Provides the Project Manager with updates on project progress or delays to client, design professionals, and/or coordinator.

  • Assists in reviewing the change orders and field orders for reasonableness of pricing and constructability.

  • Prepares documents and maintains file management of project-related information including, but not limited to, correspondence, reports, and pictures.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic knowledge of building codes, construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence to discuss project issues with contractor, project team and clients.

  • Cooperative, and willing to work efficiently with a team.

Education and Experience

  • Civil EngineeringTechnical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.

Note that this role will be working in remote areas for extended periods of time. This position will be set to commence in August 2024, and expected to end in June 2026.

Position will work in both a field and office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Must be able to travel to and reside in a remote community for regular intervals and for the duration of the entire project.
