Your Opportunity
We are seeking a professional and dynamic intermediate civil engineer or technologist to join our highly successful water practice in Winnipeg, MB. As part of the conveyance team, this role would be for the design of municipal infrastructure, including pipelines and earthworks.
Your Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed studies, review plans, and design tasks associated with municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems including engineering drawings, engineering reports, and technical specifications.
Engage in the development of design through sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, or other consultants.
Undertake field work or field investigations where required.
Assist in proposal preparation where required.
Meeting with clients, municipal officials, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions.
Actively support growth strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Work experience in linear infrastructure including watermains, wastewater sewer, land drainage sewer and forcemains, lagoon design, stormwater management, earthwork and grading and flood protection
Proficiency or experience in hydraulic modeling, particularly experience using Infoworks, WaterCAD or HEC-RAS software.
Ability to prepare technical specifications and contract documents
Ability to complete quantity take-offs, and prepare opinions of probable construction cost.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required, as is an ability to work independently within the bounds of direction provided by the project manager.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities on projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is an asset.
Must Possess a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
Travel may be required.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Education and Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or Technology or equivalent at minimum.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require field work or site visits on occasion.
Minimum of 6-10 years of related experience
A minimum of a degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology from an accredited Technical College or University or equivalent. For applicants with a degree in Civil Engineering, must be registered with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, and possess their professional engineer designation.
