Position Title: Maintenance Position
Department: Law Enforcement Center - Jail Division
Responsible To: Jail Administrator
Primary Objective of Position:
Maintain daily mechanical operations of the Jail and Law Enforcement Center and assist in the daily operations of the jail if needed. Maintenance includes usual upkeep needed to preserve and extend the useful life of the facility. Maintenance is important to protect the investment of the facility.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Including but not limited to the following:
Carry out all directives from the Jail Administrator and leadership individuals.
Work schedule will be a majority of weekdays Monday through Fridays unless a maintenance job requires different time schedule. 730 to 1630 with a 1hour lunch break unless a scheduled job is over the noon hour. A noon hour is not a set time.
Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
Handling basic repairs and maintenance
Snow Removal as required
Mowing, trimming, and watering as required
Checking sump pumps
Overseeing and assisting outside contractors when repairs are required
Diagnose mechanical issues and plan for correcting them
Repair machines, equipment, and routine vehicle maintenance
Other tasks may include plumbing work, floor repair, heating and air conditioning maintenance.
Other duties as assigned
