Galaxy Technologies is looking for a dedicated Quality Inspector Lead to guide our quality department in Winfield, KS. If you are passionate about quality assurance and have over 5 years of leadership experience in aerospace manufacturing, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:Oversee, train, and mentor the quality inspection team to ensure they meet company and customer standards. Lead team meetings and participate in personnel evaluations. Foster the growth of all quality personnel and promote a goal-oriented work environment. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager.
  • Quality Standards:Establish and enforce quality and reliability standards by understanding product and customer requirements, setting rework standards, and maintaining compliance with quality assurance policies, procedures, and government requirements.
  • Documentation Management:Oversee the organization, filing, and maintenance of inspection documents and data. Provide pertinent documentation/data to customers.
  • Production Oversight:Track job progress through the shop, coordinate with the shipping department and oversee all stages of part inspections. Ensure all production and personnel on assigned shifts follow the Shop Schedule and balance daily departmental time effectively. Promote efficiency without sacrificing quality with all team members. Ensure all customer Source Inspections are prepared for properly.
  • Communication and Coordination:Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with other team leaders and departments daily to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Safety and Problem-Solving:Serve as a member of the safety team, attend safety meetings, and ensure safety is a top priority. Evaluate problems, determine the most cost-effective and efficient solutions, and ensure their implementation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections on production parts, machines, and tooling using precision measuring devices.
  • Order materials and inspection tools as needed and manage the sending of parts for processing.
  • Ensure accurate calibration of company and employee tools and perform machine maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, securing tools and materials at the end of the day.
  • Take part in root cause analysis on all customer escapes non-conforming material reports (NCMRs). Provide \"lessons learned\" training as needed.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding developments affecting the cost or delivery of programs. Assist in process training and process evaluations/updates.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of CAD and inspection experience.
  • Over 5 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment required. CMM programming experience preferred. Laser Tracker/Romer Arm experience preferred.
  • Experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedure manuals, and job instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to type and write legibly required.
  • Positive and professional interaction skills to maintain strong working relationships with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Effective time management and task prioritization abilities.

Schedule

We currently offer two shifts: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm or Monday to Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:30am.

Second shift employees enjoy a 1 % shift differential.
