Group Summary
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. JOB OVERVIEW
Plan Coordinate and administer the flow of direct material effectively and efficiently to support production requirements and achieving targeted inventory objectives.
FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum grade 12 (high school) diploma
• Post secondary education in materials management preferred
• Minimum of 6 months experience in M.R.P. (material requirement planning) and/or inventory management and/or purchasing (automotive or related manufacturing experience preferred)
• C.P.I.M. (certification in production & inventory management) or P.M.A.C. a definite asset
CORE COMPETENCIES
• Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers, internal customers and management
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel and Word a must
• Good organization and decision making skills, detail oriented
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and cope with time deadlines
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good mathematical aptitude
• Experience with Chrysler Portal and GM Portal, CMS/AS400 a definite asset
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Issue supplier schedules, or releases based upon MRP demand through CMS system
• Generate all required shipping documentation including customs as required
• Ensure receiving data is properly entered into system and is reflective of daily activities
• Expedite PPAP approved direct material as required to support production requirements
• Ensure on-time delivery of raw components
• Maintain Accurate Inventory by monitoring inventory transactions and performing actual cycle counts with corresponding analysis as required in order to investigate and help resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely and effective manner
• Directly coordinate all 3rd party sort and ensuing transportation requirements as required
• Procure and provide in-house accounting personnel with supplier reference numbers and corresponding supporting documentation for invoice debit/credit purposes regarding excess/premium freight, downtime charges and or other supplier charge back penalties as required
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and facilitate the corrective action process as required
• Establish transportation requirements as required and through formalized tender process to meet monthly measurables.
• Responsible for all Trade Compliance for the division including ensuring Free Trade Agreement certifications are maintained current
• Notify all applicable personnel of engineering change arrivals, and timely update of records
• Assist with the development of departmental procedures and ensure that established procedures are properly understand and being followed in regards to areas of direct responsibility
• Assist with the training of department employees – maintain documentation and re-train as required
• Actively participate in departmental meetings and/or Continuous Improvement initiatives as required.
• Perform internal audits of the Financial, Quality & Environmental systems (Sox, TS & ISO) as required, including Layered part Audits
• Maintains safe working practices and compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and makes recommendations for improvement to the safety program as applicable.
• Performs all duties in accordance with IATF (previously TS16949) and ISO 14001 requirements
• Other duties as assigned by Materials Manager
• Submit continuous improvement suggestions through Employee Involvement
