POSITION SUMMARY Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw material, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for organization by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned) * Follow shortages of parts needed for production * Runs reports to help determine needs * Answer request of information from the shopfloor or other departments * Expedite vendors to insure arrival of parts on time for production needs: o Report identified delivery problems to the buyer in charge o Expedites delivery of goods to users once received from the vendor o Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule * Creates purchase orders: o Obtains price quotes from multiple suppliers under supervision of the buyer in charge o Prepares purchase orders or bid requests o Create purchase orders from requisitions o Issues purchase orders to suppliers and confirm delivery date, quantity ordered and price are correct * Data entry and filing paperwork: o Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories * Support follow up of non-conforming goods: o Discuss with QA to define disposition of non-conforming goods based need and feasibility o Organize the logistics of parts that need to be returned to vendor o Discuss with vendor improved packaging, JIT solution, kitting * Processes receipts and invoices for payment, solve receiving issues To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
